What is Pilates?

Pilates is not a fitness fad; it is a holistic concept that will not only make you feel fitter and more flexible, but will also enrich your whole way of life. The series of movements will change how your body looks and give you a new physical poise and greater mental strength.


Why Pilates?

The Pilates movements stretch the muscles and pull them into a longer and leaner shape, rather than forcing them to tear and rebuild in a shorter and thicker shape as strength training does. It also gives a whole-body workout that challenges your body like no other exercise.


Why Janet?

Janet is a fully qualified level three teacher and holds classes at the studio on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Wednesday morning. You can rest assured therefore that proper supervision of your exercise is given (beware of unqualified teachers without insurance). All levels are catered for from beginner to advanced and particular care is given to class members with back pain issues. Emphasis is given to building core strength to maintain healthy bodies and backs. Janet has recently completed a course enabling her to design pre and post natal classes.
